Static Seals

In static sealing applications, there is no relative movement between the sealing surfaces or between the seal and its mating surface, apart from minor expansions or shifts caused by fluid pressure. Among static seals, anti-extrusion rings play a key protective and support role rather than serving as sealing elements themselves. Made from extrusion-resistant materials and featuring a rectangular cross-section, these rings are installed in dedicated grooves together with an elastomeric element—typically an O-ring. Their main purpose in static applications is to prevent the elastomer from being forced into the radial clearance under pressure. The radial load, which ensures effective sealing, increases proportionally with fluid pressure. Thanks to their inherent elasticity, these components are quick and easy to install without the need for special tools, ensuring both reliability and efficiency in demanding conditions.
